Recital 2010 Costumes

Once again, recital costumes will be made by Deb Schinkel and the Dance Plus crew and will soon be underway.             COSTUME MEASURING WILL TAKE PLACE ON FOUR DAYS ONLY! ALL DBSD CLIENTS MUST COME TO THE STUDIO AT 120 REGENT AVENUE EAST TO BE MEASURED. A non refundable costume deposit of $40.00 per student and routine is due at this time. (If your child dances in two routines in recital the deposit is $80, three routines $120.00 etc) Payment, by cash or cheque only will be made directly to Dance Plus; DBSD will not take any costume payments.  Costume measuring dates are Wednesday, January 27th & February 3rd from 7-9pm, and Sunday, January 24th & January 31st from 12-3pm at the Transcona studio, 120 Regent Avenue East, appointments are not necessary, however if the fittings are missed, you must go to Dance Plus at 844 McLeod to be measured. • Sunday, March 14th: Day light savings begins *turn clocks ahead one hour*
• March 15th-20th: Primary to PreDance 2 level Spring Open House
• Saturday, March 27th: Last day of dance before Spring Break
• Thursday, April 1st:Hip Hop Troupe fees due
• Monday, April 5th: First day back to dance after Spring Break
• Saturday, May 1st: Choreographer fees for the Manitoba Provincial Dance Festival due
• May 9th-23rd: Manitoba Provincial Dance Festival
• Monday, May 24th: Victoria Day Classes may run at each teachers discretion.
• Monday, May 31st: Last day of regular dance classes.
• June 1st, 2nd & 3rd: Picture Days by Colin Stark Photography at the Studio
• Sunday, June 6th: Dress Rehearsal at the Centennial Concert Hall
• Monday, June 7th: 44th Annual Recital at the Centennial Concert Hall, show starts at 6:30
• June 1-3rd: Dance photos by Colin Stark Photography at DBSD studio
• Sunday, June 6th: Dress Rehearsal at the Centennial Concert Hall
• Monday, June 7th: 44th Annual Recital at the Centennial Concert Hall, 6:30pm

DBSD Merchandise
We will be taking orders for our DBSD sweats and jackets from now until Saturday, February 27th.
Sizes are youth small, medium and large. Ladies small, medium, large and x-large.
Youth Sweats: $25.00 Adult Sweats: $30.00
Youth Jackets: $50.00 Adult Jackets:$55.00 (+ $5.00 for name added)
DBSD water bottle $15. Great for any dancer!
*Sample sizing is available at the studio for sizing*
Costume Measuring Dates

Additional Classes

If a dancer is interested in extra classes please contact Barb for placement information at your earliest convenience (797-6293). Extra classes are designed to provide dancers with an added challenge; students will likely not be included in the class choreography. We recommend taking these classes until the end of March only, unless invited to take part in the routine.

Dance does a PARENT’S body good too! Twelve week courses in tap and ballet will begin in September! Monday 8:30pm, Tap and Friday 8:00pm, Beginner tap, with 12 weeks of ballet to follow. Register now! If you register with a friend both of you will receive a discount. Registration can be dropped off at the studio or mailed to 224 Chestnut Street R3G 1R7 (It is greatly appreciated if we receive your registrations in June)

Photo Release

By signing up your dancer at DBSD, you agree to allow DBSD to use images and video of your child for promotion on our website and at our shows.  No names or information will be shared.
If you do not want your child’s image used please submit it in writing to the desk at DBSD.
