*In order to not create a gender divide we have listed the options as one and two and not as boy and girl. Option one was previously for those comfortable identifying as a girl and option two was for those comfortable identifying as a boy. We encourage dancers to dress in the attire that suits their preference, gendered or non-gendered.

Tiny tots and little stars

Outfit option one:

  • Pink body suit (small tutu or skirt allowed)

  • Pink tights

  • Pink gymnastic slippers

  • Hair in a ponytail off the face

Outfit option two:

  • Black pants, leggings, or shorts

MINI MOVERS/ Broadway Babies

Outfit option one:

  • Tap shoes (not used for Broadway Babies)

TAP dance

Outfit option one:

  • Capezio all black tap shoe with teletone taps (No split sole or slip on tap shoes please, please do not purchase the Capezio Tap Sonic shoe. If more advanced dancers want a pair of special shoes, of a different colour or style that is allowed as long as they have a plain full black pair, consult Ms. Ella)

JAZZ (having a pair of black shoes as well as beige is always helpful, but not required)

Outfit option one:

  • Black body suit (preferably tank style)

  • Mondor brand "Light Tan" tights or tights that suit skin colour

  • Sort black dance shorts or capri length yoga pants may be worn over the body suit

  • Beige slip on jazz oxfords

  • Students may wear foot undies or dance socks to class, but they must also have their oxfords with them in the room

  • Hair in a ponytail or bun

  • Tight fitting white T-shirt or tank top

BALLET (Must be from dance Plus)

Outfit option one:

  • Mondor brand 'Ballet Pink' tights or tights that suit skin colour

  • Pink pleated-toe ballet slippers, secured with elastic, or ballet shoes that suit skin colour

  • Must be purchased at Dance Plus 844 McLeod

  • Body suit:

    • Flamingo: Pink tank style body suit

    • Bluebird: Baby blue tank style body suit (pictured)

    • Canary: Light yellow tank style body suit

    • Starling: Purple tank style body suit

    • Firebird: Burgundy tank style body suit (pictured)

    • Intermediate: Black tank style body suit

    • Senior: Dancers choice of body suit colour and style

    • Hair to be in a proper ballet bun with both pins and a hairnet. We acknowledge that the rules of ballet hair are very Eurocentric. For advice about this please reach out to Ms. Barb. We will modify requirements to honour different hair types.

  • Black pants, leggings, or shorts

  • Tight fitting white T-shirt or tank top

  • Black ballet slippers

  • Long hair should be pulled off the face
