Dear Dancers & DBSD Families
Here's what you need to know to make the most of the upcoming dance season:
1. REGISTRATION - Secure Your Spot Today!
There are still a few spots available for our 2025-2026 dance season. Don't miss out on the chance to explore a world of movement, creativity, and expression. Visit our website http://dbsdance.com to register now! Have any friends or family that want to join the DBSD family? We would love if you sent them our way!
**Registration is finalized by paying the first tuition instalment and $75 registration fee
2. DANCE BEGINS - Monday September 8th 2025
Mark your calendars! The dance magic begins on September 9th
We have a dedicated lobby area for dancers only to ensure the safety and organization of our space.
Please ensure your dancer arrives dressed and ready to go for drop-off at the front of DBSD.
We always have DBSD staff on hand to greet dancers as they enter.
Upon completion, we will bring each dancer outside to the front of the studio one by one for collection safely.
If you need to make a payment at the desk, please feel welcome to pop in
We can accommodate up to 8 parents either for student medical needs or just a desire to have a peek at the class via TV monitors. You must let us know ahead of time if you want to stay and it is first come first served please contact us via email: dbsdoffice@gmail.com
3. DBSD - ATTENDANCE CHECK IN!
Are you going on vacation?
Dancer in your household under the weather?
Login to your studio director account and select an absence reason right from your phone or computer!
A notification will be sent to our front desk team, so no need to call or email.

If your dancer has an injury, please reach out to the dbsdoffice@gmail.comemail so we can keep updated on their recovery.
4. BRING A FRIEND
This is your dancer’s chance to share their love of DBSD!
Invite a friend of similar age to come and experience their class.
Dates are; September 21 – 27 & October 26 – November 1
(excluding Halloween)
Detailed schedule & permission form will follow.
Referral Bonus: Current students receive a $25 credit when their friend signs up!
5. LOST AND FOUND
Remember to label ALL of your belongings to ensure nothing goes missing! This includes but is not limited to; Dance Shoes, Outdoor shoes, Dance bag, Jackets, Sweats, DBSD Merch, Water Bottles.
If the items are not claimed, they will be donated at then end of each month.
6. HOW TO STAY IN TOUCH
Stay updated with all things DBSD! Follow us on social media, (instagram @dbsd_official). Join our private DBSD Facebook group by scanning the QR code in the side bar! Keep an eye on our website for important dates, policies and studio information.
7. INVOICES / PAYMENT SCHEDULE
All September tuition and registration fees must be paid prior to first day of classes
Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. First charge will be October 1st.
If you have a credit card on auto-pay, payments will process automatically.
We currently accept the following forms of payment:
Credit Card (Visa / MC)
A 3.5% service fee will be applied for each transaction
E-transfer (dbsdoffice@gmail.com)
**Please ensure you write your child's name and what the transfer is for in the note / message section**
Cash (to the front desk of the studio)
No cheques please!
ACCOUNT INFORMATION
Please make sure all of your account information is up to date, this includes; phone numbers, email addresses, mailing addresses, payment information, etc... We MUST have an emergency contact other than primary guardian on file.
Does your child have an allergy or medical condition we should be aware of?
This includes but is not limited to the use of epipens or inhalers. While it may be unlikely that your child encounters a problem at the studio it is most beneficial to everyone if we are aware of everything in case there is a problem.
To update your child's health information, either send us an email or online under My Account select Edit Student Info

2. NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER (2025)
Hello DBSD Families,
November is here, and with it comes cozy studio vibes, sparkling progress in classes, and the start of costume fittings! We’re so proud of how hard our dancers have been working and can’t wait to share everything coming up this season.
1. COSTUME MEASURING @ DANCE PLUS (844 Mcleod Ave)
Costume measuring will take place November 7th–15th at DancePlus.
Please check your email for your costume letter - it includes all details about dates, fees, and what to expect!
Note: all dancers from Little Stars program and up are included in the annual recital and will have a costume made for the recital dance unless otherwise specified.
2. UPCOMING STUDIO CLOSURES
*November 11 CLASSES RUN AS NORMAL - NO CLOSURE
Monday Dec 22nd - Sunday Jan 4th
Last day of classes — Sunday December 21st
First day back to dance in 2026— Monday January 5th
*competition stream dancers may have rehearsals if available during winter break. Connect with your choreographers*

3. YOU ARE INVITED! - DBSD PRESENTS: NEW WORKS
SUNDAY JANUARY 11th 2026
@ Seven Oaks Performing Arts Centre - 711 Jefferson Ave
MORE INFO COMING SOON ...
This special performance will feature excerpts and completed pieces from our upcoming competition season. It includes brand new choreography created exclusively for this event, as well as performances by our teachers and choreographers, and select works they have designed specifically for students to debut on stage.
Also, New Works is the second opportunity to come out and celebrate our 60th anniversary with a short get together after the show as well as special prizes and giveaways!
We would love to see you there!!!

5. STUDENT ABSENCES
If your dancer is going to be missing class, please login to your
STUDIO DIRECTOR ACCOUNT to record their attendance.
You can also email the admin team at DBSDOFFICE@GMAIL.COM to let us know! This helps our team plan accordingly.
6. LOBBY SPACE RESERVATIONS
To reserve a lobby space please email the office at DBSDOFFICE@GMAIL.COM
We have limited space available and is given on a first come first service basis.
We ask that you please exit the studio prior to the end of class giving our dancers ample space for class changes and to pick up your dancer on the front boulevard.
